Board of Directors Report

At the October 27th meeting, the Board reviewed second quarter financial statements. The negative economic environment has affected our revenues; membership, travel, program, and yard sale revenue are all below last year.

Philanthropic giving from several businesses and foundations has also decreased. These declines in revenue while operating expense increase (e.g. utilities, insurance) means the Center is facing a deficit this fiscal year.

The Board discussed strategies to minimize the impacts of these challenges and encouraged individuals to consider increasing their charitable giving to the Center as the year ends to ensure we can maintain the breadth and excellence of our programs and services.

The Board will not meet in December.

All Board meetings are open to members, with the next meeting Monday, January 26th at 4:00 p.m.
