Active Aging Fair

Wednesday, September 10th, 2:30-5:30 p.m.

Now in its 6th year, Active Aging Fair formerly Senior Marketplace was the first expo in Central Virginia to showcase products and services for those over 50! Plan to join us on Wednesday, September 10th 2008 from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for participants to learn about local businesses and organizations.

The main floor will feature vendors, as well as scheduled events.

Scheduled events:

* 1:00 p.m.- Heather Hummel, daughter of 69-year-old runway and photographic model Valerie Ramsey, will share her mother’s secrets to a fabulous appearance and high energy. A book signing of “Gracefully, Looking and Being Your Best at Any Age,” follows.

* 2:30 p.m.- Make-overs and cosmetic help for older faces by Susan from Clinique.

* 2:30 p.m.- Hair extensions with Jean, a New York trained hair stylist from Bristles. She will offer advice on non-surgical hair pieces or hair bonding for men and women. Sean Connery and other male and female celebrities have hair extensions. Why not you?

* 4:00 p.m.- Our Finale speaker: Dr. Diane Snustad, Assoc. Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine and Psychiatric Medicine at UVA General Medicine, Geriatrics and Palliative Care, will talk on: “To Be Old is Not to Be Sick - Four Keys to Successful Aging.”
