Senior Center, Computer Users With New Vision

The New Year brings a new vision for the Senior Center Computer Club. In keeping with this vision, the Computer Club is changing its name to the Senior Center Computer Users Group, or CUG for short. They will continue to have monthly meetings on the second Monday of the month at 1:00 p.m. All Senior Center members are invited to attend these meetings. The speakers will focus more on the kinds of computing that those 50+ will find interesting. Group members will often present what they are working on and guest speakers will talk about subjects relating to computing and electronic products. There will be coffee at the end of each of the meetings and folks are encouraged to stay for a bit and socialize. CUG is hosting an equipment swap. Bring any computer equipment that you would like to share with others. If no one wants it, please take it home with you at the end of the meeting.

The computer lab has upgraded computers with enough RAM to make them responsive to your needs. This space will be known as the Computer Center. Dawn Schultz is the coordinator and will continue to make reservations for one-on-one help with PCs or Macs. Help will generally be available any morning or afternoon. We would like all seniors to be able to email their grandkids and surf the Internet at a minimum. Contact Dawn at 974-1956 to make an appointment.

We want to be responsive to your needs and desires. Please let us know what you would like to see demonstrated or discussed at the monthly meetings. If you would like a workshop in the Computer Center, let us know the topic. Undoubtedly, there are others who have the same interests as you.
