The PVCC box office in the Dickinson Building opens two hours before curtain time on performance days. Most of our performances are at 7:30 pm (2:30 pm Sundays).

Tickets to all events are also available at the Cashier’s Office in the main building from 9:00-4:30 Monday through Friday and at the following area locations:

There are several ways to participate in our programs:

Ushers are drawn from both the college and community for our events. If you’d like to join our pool of regular ushers or just usher for a specific event, call or email Holly Conway (see contact information above). Of course, ushers are admitted free to the performance.

PVCC theatre productions have open auditions. As a community college, our casts are often a combination of college and community actors, which we have found enriches both groups. For information about PVCC theatre productions, contact Kay Bethea at 434-961-5387; kbethea@pvcc.edu.

We have ongoing theatre projects that involve sewing, carpentry, crafts (prop construction), and other activities for which we often need assistance. Contact either Kay Bethea (info above) or Bill Hurd at 434-961-5374; bhurd@pvcc.edu.

We offer a number of productions each year, both our own and touring productions, including theatre, dance, and music (classical, jazz, world, etc.). Senior rates are offered for most productions and group rates are available. A full-season brochure includes our events for the entire academic year.

Many community members take PVCC visual and performing arts classes for "personal enrichment." For example, the PVCC Chorus, conducted by Jeffrey Suling, is a one-credit course which meets on Monday nights at 7:00 pm and performs Holiday and Spring concerts each year.

To be included on the mailing list for the PVCC Performing Arts Brochure, contact Mary Jane King at 434-961-5203 or mking@pvcc.edu. Brochures are also available at the theatre, around the campus and at many area locations.

The PVCC web site (www.pvcc.edu) includes a link to the ARTS schedule: (http://www.pvcc.edu/perf_arts.asp).

The V. Earl Dickinson Building at PVCC houses the visual and performing arts programs and includes two theatres, a 500-seat proscenium theatre and the Maxwell Theatre, a flexible black box.

There are also art galleries located on the entrance (3rd) floor. For information about visual arts events, including the upcoming Chica Tenney retrospective exhibition, lecture, and reception, contact Beryl Solla at 434-961-5362 or bsolla@pvcc.edu.

There is free parking available in a large lot just outside the building.
