Safer Driving with Computers
Monthy Meeting - Monday, March 8, 1:00 p.m.
Advances in computer technology are making it much safer to drive
-- in ways that most people don't realize. Prof. Richard Kent
of the UVA Center of Applied Biomechanics, Mechanical and Aerospace
Engineering Department, will speak on this, and how computer
modeling is improving our understanding of the aging process and its
consequences for crash protection. He will discuss the new and
future adaptive restraint systems that modulate restraining forces
with real-time computing. All are welcome, and refreshments will be
available after the meeting. |
