Copying from a Web Page

You are surfing the web and you want to save the information on a page, or the part without the advertisements. However, many times the formatting on the web page is not exactly what you want or need, and you need to have it in plain text format.

Highlight the information you would like to save by placing the cursor to the left of the first word and clicking—now hold down the shift key and go the right of the last word you want to save and click. Now all of that information should be highlighted. Now click Ctrl+C (copy).

Now open a new document in Word. Click on the blank document.

Now you want to save that information you highlighted on the web page into your Word document. Select Edit—click Paste Special—click Unformatted Text—click OK.

Now the information is saved without the formatting contained on the web page in your WORD document.

Of course, if you paste the copied material into NotePad. The formatting will also be removed. This text editor will not allow anything but plain text with the chosen font.
