Organize Your Email with Folders
If you keep all your incoming mail in your Inbox, you may be overwhelmed with mail messages floating around in there. So be organized with folders. When you have created a folder, you can drag and drop messages into that folder. Here is how to creates a new folder with Outlook Express [ there are instructions for Thunderbird & Netscape mail below, and for web-based email users (AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo), there should also be a way for you to create new folders, but every one is different.]
First, you have to have your "view" set properly. Here's how to do that:
1. Click the View menu > Layout...
2. Make sure the "Folder List" checkbox is checked.

OK, here's how to create more folders:
1. Right-click the Local Folder (or Inbox or Outbox, if you want your folder sub to that) and select "New Folder".

2. You'll be presented with a screen where you can name your folder. Type in "Computer Tips" (or whatever you would like to call your new folder) and click OK.

That's it! Now you can drag and drop
important e-mails in a place where you'll actually be able to locate
them. To view the messages in a folder, just click the folder.
For Thunderbird & Netscape Mail:
Here's how to create more folders:
1. Right-click the "Local Mail" folder (it's at the top of the "folders" window). Select New Folder.
2. You'll be presented with a screen where you can name your folder. Type in "Computer Tips" (or whatever you would like to call your new folder) and click OK.
