Encore Players
Fall Show
Sunday, October 16, 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October
19 1:00 p.m.
This fall’s Encore Players production is a potpourri—no central theme,
just plenty of laughs. Catch up with some of the characters you’ve met
before and meet some new ones. AND you will experience a fabulous
melodrama! Save the dates. Laughter is exercise!
Enjoy lunch on Wednesday, October 19th at 11:30 a.m. and then attend
our show. Lunch reservations are needed by Friday, October
14th.
Jean Newland coordinates the Encore Players,
now in their seventh season, with help from co-coordinator Marge
Haugen. About 20 people make up the core of a group that, Jean
notes, "doesn’t exist just for the sake of an end product, but as a source
of ongoing support for members." Interested thespians are invited to
contact Jean through the Center’s front desk. Rehearsals are held once a
week, although they may be more frequent in the run-up to a show.
This club is for those who love all aspects of the theater. This
exciting and diverse group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 2:30
to 4:30 p.m. in Room B. The group reads and discusses
monologues and one-act plays by famous playwrights as well as original
works by members. We stage a free-admission Spring Show in
May and a Fall Show in October at the Senior Center, and sometimes “take the show
on the road” to perform for community groups. Join other theater
enthusiasts to explore the compelling experience of
drama.
