What is the Statewide Interagency Team (SIT)?
The Statewide Interagency Team is comprised of four state agency programs that serve persons who are deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened or deafblind—the Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH), the Department of Rehabilitative Services (DRS), the Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI) and the Valley Community Services Board (VCSB).

The interagency team was formed in May 2005 as a result of an interagency activity which developed an "Agencies Working Together Collaborative Model for Services to Persons who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened or DeafBlind".  The Collaborative seeks to create a formal mechanism to support each agency’s efforts to improve services; to identify service gaps and to further develop or improve access to services within or outside of the collaborative agencies.

What is the Deaf Related Interagency Team (DRIT)?

DRIT is the local SIT team that includes SIT plus Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services (DHHSC), Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center (WWRC), Western State Hospital (WSH), and Access Independence (AI).
