The Senior
Investment Club *1* was the first club of this
type that started at the Senior Center in
1985. The purpose and objective
of the Club is to invest in stocks, bonds, and
other securities for the education and
financial benefit of the members. The
maximum membership is 22, and there are
three memberships available. This club is
open to men and women. Please Click here to
see the pictures.
A research meeting and a business
meeting are held on every second and third Wednesday
of the month at 10 a.m. in the Board Room (second
floor) at the Senior Center. Because good
research is the key to any investment club's success,
each member is responsible for following the
performance of one or more stocks the club owns
to make sure that expectations are met. Recommendations
are made to the group by the membership to hold
or sell stocks currently in the portfolio, or to
add new stocks to the club's total
investment. A professional broker is present at the
business meeting for feedback on the current
financial situation and to discuss stocks of
interest. The total membership is encouraged, but
not required, to attend both meetings.
Visitors are always welcome. For
more information concerning membership or
club details, contact
at 971-7028.
