Line Dancing Group
Line Dancing on Fridays Fridays, 1:30-3:00
p.m.
The first 30 minutes will focus on beginner-level dances, but all
levels are welcome for the entire 90 minutes! Sylvia Lord has agreed to
step forward to keep the group dancing on Fridays when Dot must miss
class. For information, contact
or Sylvia at 973-3974.
Line Dancing on Wednesday Evenings Wednesdays, 6:30-8:25
p.m.
Lessons for Beginners at 6:30 p.m. features new material, plus a
review of dances already learned so participants build memory, skill and
repertoire. Dancing for Intermediate and Experienced Dancers at 7:30
p.m. is a fun time of exercise as participants dance their favorites
with long-standing and new friends. Each 55 minute session is FREE for
members; $4 for guests.
| Dot Cagley gets us moving!
For information, call Dot at 973-3030. Prior to Ed's passing,
Dot and Ed were retired World Champion dancers who traveled
extensively to dance competitions where they did the scoring and
performed in the dinner shows. |

Line dancing burns calories, increases metabolism, stimulates
endorphins (the body's feel-good hormone), relieves depression and
anxiety, and in addition, is a general all-around stress reducer. When we
get our bodies moving to some stimulating music and learn new steps to a
few line dances, it increases confidence and stimulates our brain. Also,
you will find that the Senior Center line dancers care more about having
'fun' than how accurate the dance steps are. Although they missed the
photo-op above, men are attending and enjoying the class also. There is a
video available that explains some of the easier line dances that are done
by the more advanced dancers. |
