The Math Group

The Mandelbrot Set.
from:
Chaos: Making a New Science,
by James Gleick. Penguin Books, 1987.

The Senior Center Math Club is composed of about six men and women of varied backgrounds. Some of us have experience in physics, finance, engineering, math and teaching, and others just enjoy working with numbers. The monthly programs are put on by the members on various topics of interest. Anyone who enjoys the mental stimulation of math is welcome to attend and join the group.

The Math Club meets on the second Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in Meeting Room #1.

During the summer months, and occasionally between semesters, UVA professor, Bob Stong, stops by to offer interesting lectures. For information, contact Dee Plunkett at 985-4397.
