Senior Softball (Slow-pitch)
Senior Center, Inc. and the local Senior Softball group are looking for men and
women who love to play softball to join The Retreads. More than half of us are over 65 and we welcome men who are
55 and over, and women who are 45 and better. Players meet at
Darden Towe Park on Tuesdays and
Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. (9:00 a.m. on hot summer days). We believe in
teamwork –sluggers can request a runner to cover the bases! We play the
Richmond Seniors in two-game tournaments at Darden Towe Park and in
Richmond, alternating months. Alta Vista Seniors are now joining the
tournaments. Bring your softball shoes and glove, and ask
for Larry. Players and fans are welcome!

Senior Softball, Active in the Park at Darden Towe Large Shelter Cheer for Lake Monticello and The Retreads softball playing Richmond teams. If you can’t sit on the bleachers, bring your own chair or feel free to roam the walking trails or play Bunko. All bring water, hat, sun block and a dish to pass (remember to keep your food at the correct temperature) for a picnic after the games. |
Many players are in their 70s, and you can have a designated runner out of the box. Be prepared to see how well active 70-year-olds hit! Fans are always welcome to participate in the team potluck that follows game two. Bring a covered dish to share and, if you don't wish to sit on bleachers, BYO chair. FREE and open to all. NOTE: Men and women who love to play are invited to bring softball shoes and glove to Darden Towe. For information, contact , 245-4024.
