AARP Tax Aide

Free tax counseling and preparation for all taxpayers with middle or low income are available from AARP Tax-Aide and will be offered at the Senior Center again in 2008.

Senior Center, Inc. is accepting appointments for free tax aid offered by AARP Tax Assistants. Appointments will begin Friday, February 1 and will run Monday from 12:00 to 4 p.m., Wednesday from 12:00 to 8 p.m., and Friday from 12:00 to 4 p.m. The last appointments will be on Wednesday, April 9th.

Tax Aide is provided by AARP and is a free, confidential, and quality service supported by area volunteers. The program has operated since 1968 under a cooperative agreement with the IRS. Since its start, this program has assisted over 27 million individuals file their taxes at more then 10,000 sites annually. Available to people of all ages with middle or low income, this service focuses primarily on those 60 and over.
