A Birthday Poem
By Elizabeth T. Spencer
Lovely Lady you teach us gaily; you
Put us through paces
That tells in our faces
As we struggle on through.
We really feel better
When we go by the letter
And do as were told to do.
Ne mind if were crabby
Or woefully gabby.
Its just that our aging is showing.
Since today is your birthday
And you are our mainstay;
Were telling you now
That were crowing.
Happy Birthday to You!
Your dumb belles
