Leaf, Rain, Jewelry, Chill
Constance Tupper
The rain fell all night,
Spattering drops and clattering
Against window panes.
In the chill of drab dawn
I sense a hint of winter
In each sodden leaf
Plastered to the ground.
But as the sun
Touched the horizon,
Bare branches wore
A jewelry of rainbows
Sparkling in morning light.
