Butterfly (Haiku #1)

‘Morphed into new life,

Sail-boat wings of gossamer

Delight eyes and souls.

M mmm mm-----

The news is out—I want to shout

Dark chocolate’s good for me!

A piece a day is the healthy way

A vibrant person to be.

While exercise is still quite wise

I’ll savor my chocolate dole.

I‘ll never waste that wonderful taste,

So good for body and soul.

Words (Haiku #2)

Needles don’t sting me –

Spiteful words leave gaping wounds

In my heart’s armor.

Flashback (Haiku #3)

Golden scene from youth –

Racing home from school to eat

Mom’s freshly baked bread.

Crocuses (Haiku #4)

Early bud of frost –

Springtime bursting out with joy,

Shouting, "Look at me!"

Grief (Haiku #5)

Deep grief, unassuaged –

Heart split, mind foggy, dry tears –

Can Time really mend?

Fireflies (Haiku #6)

Delighted children

Try to capture summer’s fun,

Bottled in glass jars.

Lovelight (Haiku #7)

My heart bursts with love,

From a crescendo of joy,

When I see your smile.

A Summer’s Night Insomnia (Haiku #8)

Incessant Crickets!!

Don’t they ever stop "singing"

Or lose their voices?

Nature’s Voice (Haiku #9)

Roar of mighty Falls,

Niagara thundering down –

God’s power revealed.

Clouds (Haiku #10)

A three-humped "camel",

Safari for two,

Floated past a "whale".

The Fairy Ring (Haiku #11)

Look! Sh! In the grass!

Mushrooms in a fairy ring,

Dancing in the breeze.

Nature’s Trap (Haiku #12)

Diamond dew glistens

On lacy webs spiders wove,

Waiting for their prey.
