Join us as we fly to Australia, “The Land Down”, beginning with a sightseeing tour of Sydney including the Historic Rocks District and a Sydney Hotel dinner cruise admiring the skyline of the famous Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge.  Experience a real slice of “Aussie” life as we travel to Canberra, Australia’s capital with a sheep shearing demonstration and an authentic “Aussie” BBQ lunch.  In Canberra, visit the Gallery of Australia, the Australian War Memorial and Parliament House.  Travel through wine country on a sightseeing tour of Melbourne, the cultural capital of Australia, including the Italian Quarter, the Shrine of Remembrance, and Botanic Gardens.  We depart on a flight for two fabulous days in Auckland, New Zealand with a sightseeing tour of Auckland, including Mt. Eden, Parnell, America’s Cup Village, Bastion Point and Queen Street with dinner at Auckland Tower.  We will enjoy home hospitality with a local farm family, including dinner.  Explore Wautoma Caves, lit by millions of glow worms resembling blue stars on a ceiling and enjoy Rotor, a major spa resort, well known for its geysers, thermal springs and hot mud pools.  Visit Te Puma and enjoy a performance showcasing the very best of Maori culture, then visit the Agro dome, a working sheep and cattle farm, Rainbow Springs National Park, famous for its trout and wildlife.  We end our trip with a delicious Maori Hang Feast, complete with traditional music and dancing for a multitude of memories to last a lifetime.  (Free days to explore Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland on your own).  (Trip includes transfer to/from the airport from the Senior Center, roundtrip air from Dulles, departure, arrival taxes, Visa Processing Fee, Fuel Surcharge)  (Not included is a $25 (subject to change) New Zealand departure tax, payable upon departure from New Zealand).  Passport and Visa required and travel insurance is highly recommended.  See the Travel Office for a complete day-by-day itinerary and list of hotels.  For optional day excursions available, see travel agent.  Includes services of a Mayflower tour guide.
